About Me

I like to talk- so here I am, talking to the internet about my favourite passtimes. Boozing, partying, taking photos and going to gigs. Enjoy.

a little bit of this and that. a 'brief' about me, basically.

Let's be fair, this is probably the only posed photo of myself that will ever grace this fine website.
So yeah, this is me. I'm wearing a Jody Has A Hitlist tee, I got it for like £2 cause Gabelli, their merch guy, spilt his beer all over it and he needed to get rid of it- so me being the mug I am gave him £2 for it.
I used to love that band so much more than I do now, it's different when they've unknowingly caused me so much hassle this last month.

It kinda dawned on me earlier that I don't really post on here often, only after shows or gatherings or i've had some sort of small epiphany... I'm not gonna sit here and say that's gonna change- cause it really wont. I'm 18 and I've already learnt not to make promises I can't keep. Ady'll ask me to work a gig for him and I will literally be like 'I'll go and take photos- whether they ever make it off the camera is a completely different story' and strangely enough he's fine with it. Bless that man & the bands that have appreciated my work (mainly only the Mascots 'cause they were dolls about the whole thing), because they've actually enabled me to feel like I can do it and like I should carry on.

I'm toying with the idea of either keeping this blog how it is now, moving it on to tumblr, or just keeping it as a photography blog. I dunno, I'm basically to lazy to do anything (it's a wonder I've kept typing this long) so this blog'll probably stay exactly the same- being updated once or twice a month with my trivial stories involving musicians, bands and too much alcohol.

Gigs and giggles.

It's been an interesting couple of weeks to say the least. Party til you pass out, drink til you're dead etc! Can't be healthy :/

Quuuuite looking forward to when the George announces Januarys gig listings as Stevie's informed me of some of the bands and GOOD LORD I can't wait. I'm also quite excited for next months gigs! Zebrahead, who were incredible at Hevy fest, and Sondura & The Dirty Youth are the main ones I'm looking forward too, I always make sure I see Sondura whenever I can as they're ALWAYS brilliant and put on a good show, always get the crowd going so much so they normally don't even need a support act.

Then ofcourse we have Christmas coming! Which will just be full of CDs, Merch and LPs. Ahh I'm excited, and NYE aswell!

My life at the moment...

...seems to have changed quite drastically compared to how it was this time last year. Blimey, 365 days go I was with Gareth! Since then I've had a relatively good 8/9 month relationship with Brom, fallen out with friends and completely altered my lifestyle.

And my new lifestyle ain't necessarily a healthy one, but what's the fun in that?

Over the last three days I've eaten nothing but KFC and cheesy chips, and drank enough Fosters to kill a child, but god I've had a great time doing it. I'm hella glad I started hanging out in the George, I've found some amazing friends... Chucked some shit ones and got to party with my favourite band, JHAH, and bands like POLAR, Shadows Chasing Ghosts and Sworn To Oath who are rapidly moving up my favourite bands lists. I've met some sweeeet promotors from Bournemouth, Yeovil, Salisbury, Bristol and Brighton, advised for some shows in towns I've only been to once and got bands gigs. I'm just generally very fucking happy right now.

Missing Andy @ Joiners, 28th October.

October 28th saw me going to only my third gig at Joiners, Southampton - pretty odd for someone of my musical tastes, no? I was sent to review and photograph the show for Andovers Music site for my friend Ady. Originally I really wasn't feeling it, but when Simon and I arrived I quickly perked up and and very glad I went as I was introduced to some Southampton based musicians I'm glad I didn't miss.
